Twins left in hot car; one dies

Two babies were trapped inside a hot car. The little boy is recovering as of Tuesday night. His twin sister didn't survive.

Investigators still don't know how or why the kids were left in the car. People who live in the neighborhood where this happened can't believe the tragedy.

"I just can't believe it. It's just unreal," said Janice Garland.

A string of police cars and yellow tape surrounded a home on Salvia Court in Harvest Tuesday afternoon.  Two children were found unconscious trapped inside a hot car.

At a press conference, investigators wouldn't release any details about the investigation. But here's what we do know. Reports indicated the 10-month old twins had been left inside the car for several hours. Both children were flown by medflight to Huntsville Hospital. The little girl didn't make it. She died of heat exhaustion on the way to the hospital. The little boy made it to the hospital where doctors immediately began treating him. Neighbors are shocked when they learned what happened.

"You hear about it everyday, but you don't expect it to happen in your own backyard, it's unbelievable," said Janice Garland.

"I don't know what would happen to me if I lost one of my children. I'd be crushed," said Jonathan Beale.

Investigators are still questioning the parents. So far, no charges have been filed.
