REDLANDS A man was arrested for two counts of child endangerment after he left his children in a vehicle while shopping Sunday afternoon, said police Cpl. Steve Dickey.
At around 4:30 p.m., police received several calls about two boys who were left unattended inside a dark blue older model Toyota in The Home Depot parking lot in the 1100 block of West Lugonia Avenue.
Police responded immediately, said Dickey, and found 3- and 5-year-old boys inside the Toyota. They estimated that the children were left unattended for around 15 minutes by the time they arrived.
One was sleeping and other was sitting up, but they were both still in good condition, Dickey said.
Police found the car doors unlocked and no child restraint seats, said Dickey. He said the registration tags on the car were false .
Police waited for the children's father, Stephen Robert Glover, 52, of San Bernardino, who was shopping in Home Depot.
When Glover came back to his car, he was questioned and arrested on two counts of child endangerment, said Dickey. He added, that Glover was also found to have a $5,000 warrant for driving under a suspended license.
The children are currently with child protection services, said Dickey.
