Authorities arrested an Anaheim father at Cypress College on Monday for allegedly leaving his three daughters sweating and dehydrating in a parked car for up to 45 minutes, officials said.

Geoffrey Onyekwere, 36, faces felony child endangerment charges. The father apparently was at the school to take care of some college business, said Cypress police Lt. Jeff Kepley.

Campus security spotted the girls, ages four months to four years, and they were removed and treated for heat exposure by the time Onyekwere returned, Kepley said.

The 1992 Honda Accord was parked in a shaded area, but the older girls, ages 3 and 4, were perspiring heavily and the infant had vomited, Kepley said.

"They are in our protective custody until arrangements can be made to return them to a safe family environment," Kepley said.
