Associated Press Published on: 08/24/05 DAWSON, Ga. — Investigators are questioning a couple in the death of their toddler who was left in a hot car. Authorities say the mother of the 17-month-old boy told police she left him in a Honda Accord at an apartment complex Tuesday for at least 15 minutes as the heat index soared above 100 degrees. She told police she left the car and the air conditioning running.
But the father went outside 15 minutes later to find the car blowing hot air. The boy appeared lifeless. The child was rushed to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, where he was pronouced dead. No charges have been filed. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has been called in to help with the investigation. |
