· Purple Ribbons
There's red ribbons for saying no
to drugs, and yellow ribbons for soldiers overseas, and now purple
ribbons to remind parents of the dangers of leaving children and pets
in their cars. Fire and police officials in El Cajon are declaring August
``Purple Ribbon Month'' in support of Kaitlyn's Law. Kaitlyn Marie
Russell was a 6-month-old girl who died from the heat when her
babysitter left her alone in a van. The law was enacted two years ago
to make it illegal to leave children under 7 alone in a vehicle.
