The children were strapped in
car seats when they were rescued Monday.
Thirty-one-year-old Estella Cisneros Gonzalez is charged with two
counts of child endangerment.
Mercedes police say the woman left her youngsters -- who are
eight-months-old and 1½-years-old -- in a closed vehicle for about half an
hour.
Police Chief Omar Lucio says the children were sweating, exhausted and
probably dehydrated. Temperatures were in the 90's Monday in south Texas.
Lucio says a passerby alerted authorities after hearing the youngsters
cry.
Police believe Cisneros Gonzalez was having her tarot cards read when
the children were left in the vehicle.
