Mother Arraigned On Abandonment Charges

Woman: Boy Didn't Want To Go Inside

BERNALILLO, N.M., 10:03 a.m. MST March 27, 2001 --

Alison Adams, 38, was charged after an off-duty Bernalillo County deputy discovered Adams' 5-year-old son alone in a car at a Rio Rancho store's parking lot.

Adams said her son didn't want to go inside the store and she was only going to be away for a few minutes.

Adams' pretrial is scheduled May 11.
