Text Box: Never leave a child in a car
without appropriate supervision--

Your car becomes an oven in minutes:

The temperature inside a vehicle can become like an oven within minutes. Even on a moderately cool day, the temperature inside your car can exceed 100 degrees within minutes. When it is 88 degrees outside, lethal temperatures can be reached within 10 minutes or less.
A child’s body temperature increases 3-5 times faster than that of an adult and they can become dehydrated within minutes.
Cracking the windows, having a vehicle of larger size or lighter color does little to reduce the temperature inside your vehicle. Even in a previously air-conditioned car, the temperature increase is rapid.

Please do not forget your precious cargo in the back seat--

Every year dozens of children die when they are accidentally forgotten in their child restraint in the back seat of a car. May we suggest these simple reminders:

Place your child's diaper bag or backpack on the front passenger seat next to you.
Place your purse, briefcase, cell phone, wallet or any personal item you must take with you upon arrival at your destination in the back seat compartment with your child.
Place a teddy bear in your child’s carseat when not in use. When your child is placed in their restraint, throw the teddy bear onto the front passenger seat as a
      reminder.
We are working on a future where auto manufacturers will install a warning system helping to remind of a child's presence in the car.

Text Box: Always keep cars locked and keys out of the reach of children--

Children have become trapped inside the passenger or trunk compartment after gaining access into an unlocked vehicle or obtaining the keys left within their reach.

Teach children not to play in vehicles and, if they see a friend playing in a car, to tell an adult.
Child safety locks may prevent your child from being able to escape.
Teach children how to get out of a vehicle and trunk—contact your auto manufacturer to get a trunk release installed.
If a child is missing, check all vehicles immediately.
Text Box: Be aware of children around a
vehicle before backing up--

Many children are injured and/or die
after being hit by a car when the driver is unaware and unable to see the child is there.

Before getting into your car check to see where your children are—that they haven't followed you out of the house unknowingly.
If they are outside, be sure you can see them at all times and that they are a safe distance away.
Educate children to never play behind or run behind parked vehicles and to check if a car is running or occupied before passing a driveway.
Keep toys out of the driveway.

Prevention through awareness--

If you see a child left unattended in a
      vehicle, please call 911 immediately
and wait for emergency sevices to
arrive. Even a few minutes can make
      a difference in saving a child’s life..
